The Redcode Team ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RedCalc mobile application (the "App", Package Name: `uk.redcode.redcalc`). We are committed to protecting your personal privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use RedCalc. By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. 🛡️ 100% Client-Side Privacy & Financial Data Security

RedCalc is designed with a privacy-first, client-side architecture:

  • Zero Financial Data Uploads: Your salary inputs, tax deductions, income figures, loan principal amounts, EMI schedules, SIP investments, profit margins, custom notes, and calculation history are processed 100% locally on your device using local SQLite database storage.
  • No Cloud Transmission: We do not collect, transmit, upload, or store your personal financial calculations, salary details, or tax numbers on external servers or cloud databases.
  • On-Device Cryptography: Local data storage is secured using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption and HMAC-SHA256 digital signatures backed by Android Hardware KeyStore keys.

2. 📡 Information Automatically Processed via Third-Party SDKs

While we do not collect personal financial data, the App integrates trusted third-party service providers to deliver advertising, process in-app purchases, and fetch public data (such as currency exchange rates and GSTIN taxpayer profiles).

A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

For users on the free (ad-supported) tier, RedCalc uses Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and native advertisements.

  • Data Collected by AdMob:

* Device Advertising ID (GAID)

* IP Address & General Coarse Location (Country/City level)

* App interaction data, crash logs, and diagnostic performance metrics

* Device hardware model, operating system version, and mobile network state

  • Purpose: To serve personalized or contextual advertisements and prevent ad fraud.
  • Ad-Free Option: Users who upgrade to RedCalc Pro enjoy a 100% ad-free experience, where ad requests are completely disabled.

B. Google Play Billing Library

When you purchase a subscription or a lifetime deal pass in RedCalc, transactions are processed directly by the Google Play Store.

  • Data Processed: Order IDs, purchase tokens, transaction timestamps, and product entitlement statuses.
  • Note: RedCalc never receives or stores your credit/debit card numbers, UPI credentials, or bank details. All payment processing is handled securely by Google.

C. Public Data Services (Ankrypt Services APIs)

RedCalc connects to public endpoints to fetch live financial information:

1. Ankrypt FX API (`api.ankrypt.in`): Fetches live foreign currency exchange rates. No user identification data is sent.

2. Ankrypt GSTIN Portal API (`gstin.ankrypt.in`): Performs public GSTIN taxpayer verification and profile lookups for user-entered 15-digit GSTINs. Only the requested GSTIN string is sent to verify public government records.

3. 🔐 Android System Permissions Requested

RedCalc requests only essential permissions required to deliver its core functionality:

1. `INTERNET` & `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`:

* Required to fetch live currency exchange rates, verify GSTIN taxpayer profiles, and load AdMob advertisements for free users.

2. `POST_NOTIFICATIONS` (Android 13+):

* Required to deliver on-device tax compliance deadline reminders (e.g. 7 days before, 3 days before, and on the due date).

3. `SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM` & `USE_EXACT_ALARM`:

* Required to trigger precise 09:00 AM local background alarms for user-subscribed statutory tax dates (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Advance Tax, ITR).

4. 👶 Children's Privacy

RedCalc is intended for adults, business owners, Chartered Accountants, taxpayers, and general consumers aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.

5. 🗑️ Data Retention & User Control

  • Deleting History: You can clear your calculation history and custom compliance reminders at any time directly within the App via History > Clear All or Tax Calendar.
  • App Reset: Uninstalling the App or clearing app data in your device settings (`Settings > Apps > RedCalc > Clear Data`) immediately and permanently deletes all locally stored history and settings.
  • Opting Out of Ad Tracking: You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time on your Android device via `Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization` or `Reset advertising ID`.
