1. Introduction and Agreement to Terms

Welcome to RedCalc ("the Application", "the App", "we", "our", or "us"). RedCalc is an offline-first financial calculator and multi-toolbox utility developed and published by The RedCode for Android devices.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using RedCalc from the Google Play Store or any authorized distribution channel, you ("User", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") and our [Privacy Policy](PRIVACY_POLICY.md).

2. Description of the Service

RedCalc provides self-contained, client-side financial estimation, calculation, and document formatting tools designed primarily for Indian tax regimes, payroll structures, investments, and commercial transactions. Key tools include:

  • Payroll & Tax: In-Hand Salary Breakdown (CTC, PF, PT, HRA, TDS), Income Tax Estimation (Old Regime vs. New Regime Budget 2025-26), Capital Gains Tax Calculator (LTCG / STCG under Section 112A/111A).
  • Commercial & Business: Quick GST Invoice Generation (CGST, SGST, IGST) with PDF export, GSTIN Format & Verification, Margin & Markup Calculator, Expense & Deduction Tracker.
  • Banking & Investments: Loan EMI with Prepayment & Amortization Schedules, SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) & Lumpsum Calculator, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), Fixed & Recurring Deposit Estimator.
  • Utilities: Live Currency Converter (Forex), Indian Land Area Converter (Bigha, Guntha, Marla, Kanal, Acre), Age & Date Calculator, Tax Compliance Calendar.

3. Strict Non-Government Entity Disclaimer

REDCALC IS AN INDEPENDENT THIRD-PARTY UTILITY APPLICATION DEVELOPED PRIVATELY BY THE REDCODE.

1. No Government Affiliation: RedCalc is NOT affiliated with, authorized by, maintained by, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Government of India, the Income Tax Department of India, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, or any state revenue authority.

2. No Official Status: RedCalc does not represent any government agency, public sector department, or statutory body.

3. Official Portals: For official statutory filing, tax payment, tax return submission, and legal compliance, users must consult authorized government portals:

4. Financial, Legal, and Tax Advisory Disclaimer

1. Informational & Educational Purposes Only: All formulas, calculators, comparison engines, and generated reports inside RedCalc are provided strictly for informational, educational, and preliminary estimation purposes.

2. Not Professional Advice: The Application does not provide chartered accountancy, legal, certified tax planning, or investment advisory services. Nothing contained within the App should be construed as financial, legal, or investment advice under Indian or international law.

3. Professional Consultation Required: Tax slabs, exemptions, surcharge rules, and deductions are subject to legislative amendment (including annual Union Budgets and CBDT circulars). You must consult a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), registered financial advisor, or legal counsel prior to filing taxes, executing financial transactions, or making investment commitments.

4. No Liability for Tax Filings: The RedCode accepts no liability for penalties, tax audits, interest, or financial losses resulting from the use of calculations generated by the App.

5. In-App Purchases, Subscriptions, and Promotional Deals

RedCalc offers optional premium tiers ("RedCalc Pro" or "Ad-Free Pass") to unlock an advertisement-free experience, priority live data sync, and advanced export features.

A. Billing Mechanism

  • All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing (Google LLC).
  • We do not process, collect, or store payment details (such as credit card numbers, bank credentials, or UPI VPA addresses). All financial transactions are governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.

B. Available Purchase Options

1. Weekly Pass (`redcalc_pro_weekly`): Auto-renewing subscription providing 7 days of ad-free access.

2. Monthly Pass (`redcalc_pro_monthly`): Auto-renewing subscription providing 30 days of ad-free access.

3. Annual Pass (`redcalc_pro_annual`): Auto-renewing subscription providing 365 days of ad-free access.

4. Lifetime Deal (`redcalc_pro_lifetime_deal` / `uk.redcode.redcalc.iap.lifetime`): A single, one-time payment providing permanent, lifetime ad-free access on the purchaser's Google account with no recurring fees.

C. Promotional Pricing & Discounts

  • From time to time, we may offer promotional launch discounts on specific products (for example, reducing the Lifetime Deal from its standard ₹799/800 price to ₹399 via Google Play Console promotions).
  • Promotional prices are valid only during the designated promotional campaign. Google Play applies verified offer tokens at checkout.

D. Cancellations, Renewals, and Refunds

  • Subscriptions: You may cancel an active subscription at any time via the Google Play Store app (Account > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to Google Play refund policies. Because RedCalc provides instant access to digital features upon purchase, refunds are handled directly by Google Play Customer Support according to Google Play’s refund guidelines.
  • Restoration: If you change or reinstall on a compatible Android device logged into the same Google account, you may use the "Verify / Restore" button in Settings to reinstate your entitlements without paying again.

6. Advertisements and Free Tier

For users on the free tier, RedCalc displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob (including banner, interstitial, and native ad formats).

  • Ad requests are managed via the Google Mobile Ads SDK in strict compliance with Google Play Developer Program Policies.
  • Interstitial ads are frequency-capped (minimum 5-minute cooldown between displays) to safeguard user experience.
  • Upgrading to any Pro tier or Lifetime Pass disables all advertising requests across all screens.

7. User Data, Local Storage, and Backups

1. Offline-First Architecture: Your salary inputs, tax deduction logs, invoice records, and expense entries are stored in your device's private, sandboxed SQLite (Room) database.

2. Zero Proprietary Cloud Uploads: The RedCode does not host a remote user account database or upload your financial calculations to proprietary cloud servers.

3. User Backup Responsibility: If you create an encrypted backup file (`.redcalc`), the file is secured via AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption. You are solely responsible for safely storing, backing up, and safeguarding your exported backup files and any associated master passwords.

4. Data Deletion: You may permanently purge all application records at any time by clearing application storage in Android Settings or by uninstalling the Application.

8. Third-Party Network Services

RedCalc integrates with select public/open third-party APIs for live utility lookups:

  • Forex Exchange Rates: Live currency exchange data fetched from public endpoints (`api.ankrypt.in`).
  • GSTIN Structural Verification: Public GSTIN structural format verification (`gstin.ankrypt.in`).

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, real-time, or error-free availability of third-party network APIs. Exchange rates are indicative market rates and should not be used as official bank settlement rates.

9. Intellectual Property and Limited License

1. Ownership: All source code, user interface designs, visual layouts, graphics, icons, algorithms, trademarks, and branding associated with RedCalc are the proprietary intellectual property of The RedCode.

2. Limited License: We grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to download and run RedCalc on Android devices that you own or control, solely for personal or legitimate business utility purposes.

3. Restrictions: You shall not:

- Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Application (except to the extent permitted by applicable law).

- Circumvent, tamper with, or bypass digital signature checks, HMAC-SHA256 receipt validation, or Google Play Billing licensing controls.

- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or lease the Application or modified APK variants.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE REDCODE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
  • ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CALCULATIONS, TAX SLABS, FOREX RATES, OR INVOICE TEMPLATES.
  • UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION OF THE APP ON ALL DEVICE HARDWARE OR ANDROID OS VERSIONS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

1. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE REDCODE, ITS DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA LOSS, TAX PENALTIES, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

2. AGGREGATE LIABILITY CAP: IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, OUR MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APPLICATION SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF:

- THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO REDCALC VIA GOOGLE PLAY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR

- ₹500 (FIVE HUNDRED INDIAN RUPEES) / £5 (FIVE BRITISH POUNDS).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The RedCode, its developers, and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your reliance on calculations or invoices generated by the Application in statutory filings or commercial contracts;
  • Your violation of any third-party rights or applicable regulations.

13. Modifications to the Application and Terms

1. We reserve the right to modify, update, enhance, or discontinue any feature, calculator, or tool within RedCalc at our sole discretion with or without notice.

2. We may update these Terms periodically. Revised Terms will be made available within the application or via our documentation repository. Continued use of RedCalc following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India and the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal dispute or proceeding arising out of or related to RedCalc shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
